Abandoned Aircraft at Seville Airport Put Up for Auction Starting at 10 Euros

A twin-engine Piper PA-23 Apache aircraft, which has been sitting abandoned for years at Spain’s Seville Airport, has been put up for auction with a starting price of 10 Euros.

Offered for sale by the Spanish airport operator Aena, participants wishing to bid on the aircraft registered as EC-GKA are required to pay a deposit of 0.50 Euros. It is reported that the aircraft has been at Seville Airport since at least 2018.

Aena stated that multiple attempts were made to contact the aircraft’s owner, and official notices were published three times in the Official State Gazette of Spain. Despite these calls, no application was made to claim the aircraft, leading to it being legally deemed abandoned.

It was noted that the long-unused aircraft is in poor technical condition and is unable to fly again. If the auction yields no results, the aircraft may be sold to a company for dismantling and recycling.
